Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a doctors referral?

You do not need to be referred by a doctor to see us at Hands On Therapy. You can call us directly and make an appointment. 


Does insurance pay for treatment at Hands On Therapy?

Yes if you have insurance coverage you will be covered for a portion of your appointment. Every one with insurance is expected to pay their co-payment at the time service is rendered. These co-payments vary depending on your insurance company. The exceptions are Police and Prison Officers who are covered in full for up to 12 visits per calendar year.


What if I do not have insurance?

If you do not have insurance, you can still be seen at Hands On Therapy.  You will be required to pay the full amount of treatment cost. Payments can be made by cash, check, debit or credit card. 


What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours notice for change or cancellation. If you are cancelling for a Monday appointment we require you to cancel by 1 pm on Friday.  Finally if you are cancelling for an appointment after a Public Holiday we require cancellation on the last working day prior to the holiday.  In the event of a late cancellation or missed appointment you are required to pay in full for this appointment, since the time was allocated just for you.  


Is it OK to be late for my appointment?

We take pride at Hands On Therapy in maintaining a timely schedule. Each appointment time is reserved specifically for you. If you are late you will have less time for your treatment which will finish on time to avoid inconveniencing the next patient.


What is the duration of the appointments?

Appointments are booked for half an hour. You can request to be seen for longer if you wish or your therapist might suggest it, however there will be an additional charge for this time.
